Why won't my sprinkler system turn off?

Usually this is due to a valve or solenoid issue, and is very common after the components sit unused all winter. The valve or solenoid will most likely need to be replaced.

Why does my sprinkler system keep repeating it's program multiple times a day?

This is a very common issue and is due to having too many start times programmed on your controller. If you have multiple start times programmed, your system will run through each sprinkler zone once and then continue to repeat that cycle multiple times. This is resolved by having only one start time programmed on your controller.

The lists provided below can give you an idea of the pro's and the con's of each type of sprinkler system pipe. At SprinklerPro we prefer to use PVC. We believe it is a higher quality product and the majority of the repairs we come across in our business is on Poly systems, not PVC. We provide high quality services to our customers, so we use high quality products.

Poly Pipe Pro's

Cheaper
No messy glue and primer to deal with
Less likely to freeze and break

Poly Pipe Con's

Lower PSI rating (possibility of bursting under higher water pressures)
The inside diameter of 1" poly pipe is drastically smaller than the inside of 1" PVC pipe. This equates to less water flow being available for the system.
The fittings used to connect the pipes together are either push on, saddle, or clamp fittings. Over time these fittings will start to create weak points that will leak under pressure.
Poly Pipes are flexible so rocks and roots are more likely to create kinks and dents in them which can cause low water flow.
Life span before major issues and expensive repairs if the system is well maintained is approximately ten years, if you're lucky.

PVC Pro's

Higher PSI rating (can withstand higher water pressures)
The diameter of 1" PVC is bigger than poly, therefore is able to handle more water flow.
PVC uses glued fittings, these fittings have a higher PSI rating than the pipe itself. If installed correctly, they will NOT leak under pressure.
Life span approximately 30 years or more if maintained properly.

PVC Con's

More expensive
Must be primed and glued together which means it takes more time to install.
Unlike poly pipe, PVC is semi rigid. Which means it is more likely to freeze if not winterized properly.
